Bio
IN HIGH SCHOOL: A versatile player out of Goodlettsville, Tenn., McWhirter filled roles as a pitcher, first baseman and outfielder for high school coach Richie Estep. Over the course of his high school career, he was named 1st team All-District, Disctrict MVP, 2nd team Mid-State, 2nd team All-State and 1st team All-State according to TBCA. He recorded 109 strikeouts with a 1.69 ERA during his senior season, notching of 225 K’s in his high school career. His high school team held the district championship title from 2007-2010, claimed the regional championship in 2007, 2008 and 2009, and the state championship in 2007 and 2008.
